The Royal Ulster Agricultural Society (RUAS) remain hopeful that the Balmoral Show will occur from 22 – 25 September 2021, chief executive Alan Crowe has confirmed.

“Our staff and committees are busy planning and looking at all the necessary changes needed to ensure a COVID-safe event” said Crowe, who added that the safety and wellbeing of visitors, exhibitors, stewards, officials and contractors remains of greatest importance.

In a separate message sent out to exhibitors, the RUAS said it was “planning as near to normal a Show as we can”, although acknowledged that visitor numbers are likely to be limited in some way.

There will also be some changes around the showgrounds, with aisles and roadways widened.

Exhibitors will be expected to comply with all COVID-19 guidelines applicable at the time of the Show.

The 2021 event was originally due to happen this week (Wednesday 12 May to Saturday 15 May).
