Met Éireann has issued a status yellow thunderstorm warning for Dublin, Louth, Meath and Monaghan from 3pm to 7pm this Tuesday.

The national forecaster is warning of heavy, thundery showers with some lightning, which may result in difficult travelling conditions, spot flooding and lightning damage.

Wednesday is expected to be windy and cloudy with outbreaks of rain, according to Met Éireann.

Northwest

Rain will be heaviest and most persistent in the northwest, but there will be much drier and brighter weather elsewhere, with some sunny spells and scattered showers.

Those showers will remain up to Thursday, but it will be a bright and dry day for the most part, with highest temperatures of 15°C to 19°C expected.
