Despite this, demand continued to be strong and there were buyers active for all good-quality cattle types. Forward bullocks over 600kg were in slightly lower supply and prices of average-quality lots ranged mainly from €2.20/kg to €2.30/kg.

Bullocks from 500kg to 600kg sold from €2.20/kg to €2.40/kg. Bullocks from 400kg to 500kg sold from €600 to €750 over the weight.

Heifers

Demand for heifers was quite strong also, with heifers from 500kg to 600kg selling mainly from €2.20/kg to €2.40/kg for average-quality types.

Farmer buyers were very active for all types of heifers. Store heifers from 400kg to 500kg sold mainly from €2.35/kg to €2.55/kg.

Weanlings

There were a good number of weanlings on offer on the day, with solid demand from farmers. Some exporters were buying choice lots also.

Bulls from 300kg to 400kg sold from €2.50/kg to €2.70/kg and to over €3.00/kg for top-quality lots. Heifers in the same weight category sold for similar prices.

Demand for light weanlings was firm and prices of 200kg to 300kg types ranged mainly from €2.70/kg to€3.00/kg.
