The Level 7 qualification is suitable for those hoping to manage their own farms or pursue a career as dairy farm managers. The course is also ideal for people planning to enter dairy farming through a collaborative arrangement.
The course consists of a two year paid professional work experience with approved dairy farmers. Participants need to spend 12 months on a Teagasc-approved host farm and then move to a new one. There is also the option to spend six months’ work experience in New Zealand.
The programme is delivered at the Teagasc Animal and Grassland Research and Innovation Centre, Moorepark or Teagasc Kildalton Agricultural College.
