Bunratty Castle, Co Clare, is getting set to hold its annual family friendly traditional harvest event on Sunday 7 September.
The event will host a number of attractions showcasing rural Irish life and traditions from over a century ago.
There will be displays of vintage machinery, tractors and craft demonstrations, with performances from dancers, musicians and performers from across the banner county.
There will be a traditional threshing machine working on the day that will give visitors an insight into how crops were once harvested.
There will also be a display of ploughs, hay rakes and root cutters that were once used for turnips and mangels. Enthusiasts will be on hand to speak about the evolution of vintage farm machinery.
A range of native Irish breeds of animals will be on show on the day, such as red deer, peacocks, goats, geese, turkeys and Irish wolfhounds.
Demonstrations
Local craftsman Tom Delaney will be showcasing basket making, while Elizabeth O’Connor and Geraldine O’Sullivan will demonstrate the ancient craft of wool spinning using locally sourced wool.
Bunratty’s Bean an Tís will also be demonstrating the art of bread and butter making.

Traditional threshing demonstrations will feature as part of Bunratty Castle’s Traditional Harvest Day taking place on 7 September.
The sheaf throwing competition is also returning, with Tipperary's Gary Carey and Donegal native Michael Gallagher challenging competitors to beat their all-Ireland record throws of over 61 feet.
Events manager at Bunratty Castle and Folk Park Marie Brennan said: “Our event will give visitors a look into how neighbours and friends used to come together during the harvest season.
"Harvest day was all about bringing communities together to support each other, celebrate and toast a successful season."
