Local farmers emerged as the buyers of two substantial farms sold recently in Wexford by Sherry Fitzgerald Radford.

A 38.5ac holding at Walshegraigue, Ballymitty, was bought by a tillage farmer. The selling price is believed to have been close to the guide price of €10,000/ac.

The land is in permanent pasture and had been used as an outfarm by a local dairy farmer.

Meanwhile, a beef farmer with interests in the livestock sector was the buyer of a block of 155ac located at Quitchry, Ballymitty.

The land had been part of a 204ac farm put on the market some time back. Two smaller portions of the entire were already sold off and the 155ac block recently sold was the balance.

This holding included a number of sheds including a four-bay A-roofed cattle shed and a three-bay round roofed hayshed. Again, this land sold for close to the guide price of €10,000/ac.

On Wednesday 19 May Sherry Fitzgerald Radford were due to auction 24ac at Deerpark, Foulksmills.
