Following the launch of the G Series last year and A Series earlier this year, Valtra continues the development of its fifth generation, with the recent introduction of its new N and T Series tractors.

The cab of the new N and T Series models has headed in the direction of AGCO’s other brand Massey Ferguson, with its latest 8S tractor. Replacing the traditional dashboard behind the steering wheel is the large colour display situated on the A-pillar.

The top of the display is dedicated to default information such as forward speed, engine speed and time. On the lower section of the screen, the operator can select information for controlling the tractor.

The N Series comprises of four models ranging from 135/145hp to 165/201hp (rated and max).

On HiTech and Active models, the display can be used to make adjustments to engine, hydraulics and transmission settings. With higher-spec Versu and Direct models, the A-pillar and SmartTouch divide the tasks according to operator preference.

On SmartTouch models, the right-hand side of the cab has been redesigned and allows the swivel seat to rotate more to the right. The new-generation Evolution seat now provides support to the operator when partially turned and looking to the rear.

The steering column is completely new, according to Valtra, with a slightly larger steering wheel than before.

The T series comprises of eight models ranging from 155/170hp to 235/271hp (rated and max).

The shuttle lever has been updated and is said to make direction changes easier when switching between controls such as the SmartTouch lever or the Twin Trac shuttle.

Starting off from stopped in B or C ranges is now easier under load as a result of the start boost feature. Changing between speed ranges is also said to be faster, according to the Finnish manufacturer.

For customers looking for the additional touches, a dark premium cab interior is available and includes a leather steering wheel, partially chrome pedals and rubber padding to the bottom of the storage compartments.

The new Auto U-Pilot combines the firm’s headland management system with Valtra Guide. Auto U-Pilot controls the implement with more precision in the headlands, leaving the operator’s job easier.

Valtra is ahead of the curve in terms of production, with the new N and T series models in production since early spring. Units are now said to be available.
