Sligo farmer and pedigree Salers breeder Niall Hunt and his uncle Bernard Hunt undertook the voyage this week of bringing the last oftheircattle home from Inch Island for the winter period.
Speaking to the Irish Farmers Journal, Niall said that the cattle went out to the island last March where they thrived well and also calved out there.

Twenty cows and 20 calves returned in groups to the mainland this week where they will spend the rest of the winter.
