The IFA’s sheep and hill chairs need to come and talk to the membership in east Wicklow, a disgruntled Wicklow hill sheep farmer told The Dealer.
Before Christmas, outgoing national sheep chair John Lynskey came to Wicklow, but to address the Wicklow Cheviot Owners, not IFA members.
Next month, national hill chair Flor McCarthy is to make the drive to Wicklow – but again at the invitation of the pesky Cheviot Owners.

“We feel entitled to see the sheep chair come to Wicklow,” the caller said.
“We’ve plenty of problems here with National Parks. The hills are gone wild because of under-grazing.”
Hot demand
The IFA’s newest committee and regional chairs are in hot demand at the moment to address county meetings.
Sounds like Wicklow county chair Chris Hill and new national sheep chair, Corkman Sean Dennehy, should facilitate a meeting for Wicklow sheep farmers or even cover the issues at a monthly county executive.
