The 107ac farm at Kilcourcey, Cartroncor and Tully, near Edgeworthstown, Co Longford, will be sold by online auction.

It will take place on Friday 29 March at 12pm. Bidders must register their interest in advance on the auctioneer’s website www.propertypartnersonlineauctions.ie/future-auctions

It is advised that interested parties do this well in advance in case there are any issues as a booking deposit must be paid. Bidding will open at 12pm on 29 March and will close an hour later.

The farm, which is currently all in permanent pasture, has an internal roadway system

“You just press a button to bid and there is an hour allocated for bidding. It gives the bidders a minute to decide if they want to bid again,” said selling agent John Earley.

He said all the legal proceedings are the same as for a normal auction and that people can expect online auctions of land to become the norm.

“This will be a test for land,” said John. “But it’s a good system as you know beforehand who you have bidding.”

The farm, which is currently all in permanent pasture, has an internal roadway system.

The reserve price is €575,000, or over €5,370/ac. The agent for the sale is Property Partners Earley in Roscommon town.

Full details of the farm were in the Irish Country Living dated 21 February 2020.
