There is a risk that 20 workers in ABP Waterford may be put on short-term layoffs as a result of market conditions and uncertainty.

ABP Ireland has no plans for any large-scale job reduction, an ABP spokesperson told the Irish Farmers Journal.

In relation to the jobs in Waterford, the spokesperson said that ABP’s management team is “carefully reviewing the situation and will look at taking all available steps to try and avoid layoffs, where possible”.

These include restrictions on recruitment, looking at alternative positions within other company sites in Ireland, retraining, short-term working and restricting overtime, the spokesperson said.
