Payments under the Areas of Natural Constraint scheme will commence next week to farmers who have satisfied the stocking rate requirements and have no issues with their BPS application.
The Department of Agriculture has confirmed that in the region of €200m will be paid under the Areas of Natural Constraint (ANC) to 95,000 farmers from early next week.
A percentage of farmers will not receive their ANC payment until stocking rate requirements of a minimum of 0.15LU/ha over the calendar year and a minimum stocking rate of 0.15LU/ha over a seven-month retention period have been satisfied. These payments will take place regularly as cases are cleared, as is also the case where payments are delayed due to outstanding issues with an applicant’s Basic Payment Scheme application.
