  • Pat Falvey

Explorer Pat Falvey has told Macra members success comes from having a goal and working towards it.

The inspirational speaker was the special guest speaker at Macra Second Phase Training for Southern clubs which took place in the Brehon Hotel last weekend.

The adventurer and author encouraged Macra members to set themselves a goal in life and work towards achieving it.

Speaking to members from clubs from across southern Ireland, Pat discussed his life, climbing Mount Everest and several other expeditions, including reaching the South Pole as the leader of the first ever Irish team to do so.

The aim of this year’s training was to motivate members as we begin a new year not only to aid their clubs but also for their own personal development.

Pat who travels the world as a motivational speaker, spoke about the dangers he and his team faced when climbing Everest and also spoke about how he got involved in mountaineering. Working with conflict within a team, effective communication and dealing with criticism were important aspects of the talk.
