Figures released by the Agricultural Engineers Association (AEA ) indicate that there were 1,034 new tractors registered in the UK in June 2019. This figure is down 12.9% in comparison to June 2018.

This brings the total number of new tractors registered in the UK to 6,198 units, indicating a 5.1% reduction in comparison to the same period in 2018. The AEA reports that the total of 6,198 units was higher than in the first half of any year since 2014, other than 2018.If we look at the trends in the power bands in the UK, we see that 161-200hp bracket is the most popular, accounting for almost 22% of total registrations, followed by the 141-160hp bracket accounting for a further 18.4% of registrations.

Northern Ireland

A total of 317 new tractors have been registered in Northern Ireland for the first six months of 2019. This represents an increase of 11.2% on 2018, when 285 units were sold for the same period.

In 2018, a total of 12,102 new tractors were registered in the UK.

That figure was approximately 1% higher than the total for 2017 and was the largest annual figure in four years.
