    2020 Annual Conference Update

As you know, this is a very difficult time for all organisations due to the public health restrictions surrounding COVID-19. Like every other organisation, all Macra events and activities have had to be postponed until recently, where we have seen some smaller events taking place subject to public health guidance. There has been no change to guidance on large gatherings excluding weddings and therefore, Macra na Feirme has had to make the difficult, unfortunate but necessary decision, in light of this advice, to postpone its annual conference and rally to 2021. The event, which was due to take place in Kerry this October, will now take place in October 2021, with dates and venue to be confirmed later. Macra na Feirme and Kerry Macra are very grateful to Kerry Agribusiness for their continued support and sponsorship of what will now be Rally 2021. Despite postponing Rally 2020, we are working hard to ensure that many of the competitions, including the conference that would normally take place on that weekend, can still go ahead virtually – or in limited cases physically – subject to the public health advice closer to the time.

Alternatives arrangements to keep within guidance may be needed, including some virtual elements, but further information will be available in due course.
