Almost 60% of Commonage Management Plans (CMP) have yet to be submitted, figures supplied to the Irish Natura and Hill Farmers Association (INHFA) show. INHFA president Colm O’Donnell has called on all Department-approved advisers to complete the 2,680 outstanding plans immediately. He made particular reference to advisers subcontracted to Farm Relief Services. “It is totally unacceptable, if recent rumblings regarding cessation of FRS contracts by Teagasc, delays the completion of management plans and leaves commonage farmers in limbo land,” he said.
