There will be over 830 jobs available with more to be announced at the Irish Farmers Journal and open eir Agri Careers Fair at the RDS next Thursday 3 March.

Ten different graduate programmes will be promoted by various companies on the day while two exhibitors with significant employment opportunity are the Department of Agriculture and Teagasc, which are recruiting to fill approximately 200 positions each this year.

There will also be opportunities with meat processors on the day with Dawn Meats, ABP, Kepak, Dunbia, Irish Country Meats and Slaney Foods International all exhibiting. Dawn Meats alone will be filling 63 positions.

Bord Bia is involved in two placement programmes – its annual marketing fellowship run with the UCD Michael Smurfit Graduate Business School and the IBEC export orientation programmes, and 57 candidates will be sought for these in the coming weeks.

In terms of particular sectors, there will be opportunities with engineering exhibitors such as Dairymaster and McHale. Dairymaster alone is filling 65 roles altogether in 2016 and will be interviewing on the day for some of these.

Sales is another area that many companies will be recruiting for at the RDS. Many of these roles are abroad.
