A bag of chips won an election at the National Ploughing Championships. Yes, you read that correctly. The Electoral Commission held a poll in Screggan on what the nation deemed to be the most popular way of eating potatoes. And no, the answer is not with your mouth.

Voters had the option of choosing baked, boiled, chips, hash browns, hassleback, mashed, roasted or steamed. After count one, chips were out in front, followed by mashed and roasted. After five counts, chips exceeded the quota and were deemed ‘elected’. No surprises there so.
