The JCB Fastrac tractor is renowned for its high-speed capabilities. JCB has recently launched a new Fastrac series, what it is labelling as a “brand new generation of tractor”.

ECI will be displaying the Fastrac 4220 model at its stand at this year’s event. This tractor is powered by an AGCO 6.6 litre, six-cylinder engine rated at 217hp with a maximum power output of 235hp.

The tractor is equipped with a new two range CVT transmission. According to JCB, the tractor is capable of travelling 60km/h at 1,600rpm or for maximum fuel economy driving at 50km/h at 1,400rpm, tyre dependent.

Features

One of the standout features of the new series is the self-levelling suspension system. The self-levelling rear axle suspension is matched with a new hydraulic front suspension system that maintains a set ride height wherever the implement is mounted.

The suspension system responds to a linkage-mounted implement or the de-mounting of an implement, restoring the ride height.

As a spray tank or seed hopper empties, the suspension system will compensate to meet the set height.

The tractor has a maximum permissible weight of up to 13t to 14t, depending on the tractor configuration, with the ability to mount up to 4t on the rear deck.

The rear three-point linkage can carry up to 8,000kg lift capacity while the front linkage capacity is up to 3,500kg. The new Fastrac can be fitted with an optional four-wheel steer, capable of reducing the turning diameter to less than 10m. However, this is tyre dependent.

The tractor is fitted with a 390 litre diesel tank and a 45 litre urea tank.
