The Aberdeen Angus Cattle Society and Irish Aberdeen Angus Association have confirmed they are to continue DNA bull calf registrations for 2020.

In both in the UK and Ireland all bull calves born in 2019 had to have a DNA or genotype sent off before full registration was achieved.

Newly elected society president Alan Cheney confirmed that the society would again be covering the costs of this for 2020. He explained that this in turn would lead to the easy identification of sires of animals going through the numerous beef schemes to ensure the brand is maintained.
