As the coronavirus spreads, with the latest number reaching 34 confirmed cases in the Republic of Ireland, a number of events have been cancelled across the country.

  • IFA county meetings.
  • Department of Agriculture LPIS meetings for Cavan, Longford, Navan, Monaghan and Carrick-on-Shannon between 12 March and 31 March are scheduled to go ahead.
  • Balmoral Show, Belfast, between 13 and 16 May - organisers are monitoring the situation and have told stall holders, caterers and livestock exhibitors to rest assured they will be fully refunded if the event is cancelled due to the coronavirus.
  • Farmers are being advised to follow HSE advice and stick to strict hygiene protocols.
