Shinagh Estates, the company which owns the Shinagh dairy farm in Co. Cork and is itself owned by the four west Cork Co-ops (Drinagh, Barryroe, Bandon and Lisavaird), reported 2025 financial results which showed profit after tax of €473,367.

The represents a jump of more than 55% on the 2024 performance.

Shinagh Estates is directly involved in farming, holding 100% of Shinagh Estates Dairy Farming Ltd. and Shinagh Estates Farm Services Ltd.; and a 50% stake in Ballyvadin Beef Farm Ltd., the demonstration beef farm in Fethard, Co Tipperary, in which Dawn Meats owns the balance of shares.

The income of the company includes revenue from farming operations, income from joint ventures and interest income. The assets of the group stood at €4.2m at the end of the year, with the vast majority of that consisting of a €4m land holding.

Shinagh Estates also held investment property on its balance sheet valued at €1.57m, which the company said comprised of “Shinagh House, Highfield House, Accounts building and the bungalow”.

The Group ended 2025 with €932,972 in cash and creditors totalling €83,282. It had no bank loans outstanding.

Shinagh will hold an open day at its dairy farm near Bandon in Co. Cork on Tuesday, 1 September, beginning at 11am. The key topics on the day will be economics and farm-system efficiency; genetics and environmental impact; labour efficiency; water quality; nitrogen mitigation and red clover reduction.
