Gardaí in Co Meath have appealed for information after a quad bike was stolen from a farm last month.

Officers told the Irish Farmers Journal that the quad was taken between 9.30pm and 11pm from a farmyard in Kilkeelan near Athboy.

The owners reported that thieves had forced entry to the premises. The Yamaha 350 model has the serial number 517162.

Anyone who has seen the quad or can help with its recovery is invited to contact Kells Garda station on 046-924 0999.

Spate of thefts

Local gardaí have reported a spate of machinery thefts in the Athboy area and stopped a Jeep towing a suspected stolen trailer last week. Upon investigation, the trailer's owner had reported it stolen from Castlepollard in neighbouring Co Westmeath on 14 March.

"One male was arrested and charged with handling stolen property and released on bail to appear before Trim District Court," gardaí said.
