As well as the Simmental breed selling at Stirling today, the Charolais undertook its pre-sale show. Leading the way in the ring under judge Arwel Owen was the senior champion Balthayock Minstrel.
Bred and exhibited by the Walter family, this May 2016-born bull is out of homebred stock bull Balthayock Ferdinand. Ferdinand is no stranger to breeding top stock, having bred bulls to 50,000gns.
Following him to take the reserve overall championship was the intermediate champion Maerdy Montypyton from Messrs Evans. This bull is sired by former Stirling reserve senior champion Blelack Fabulous and a great grandson of the well-known cow Claybury Clarissa.
