The beef trade remains steady this week, with bullocks and heifers trading off a base of €3.65/kg in most factories.

There has been a move to reduce prices further but numbers moving at €3.60/kg appear to be low.

Northern Irish demand for factory-fit cattle and cattle for further feeding continues to be strong, with 651 cattle exported to the north last week for direct slaughter.

Mart prices for finished cattle have eased a little in the week, but weanlings continue to be a very good trade.
