Some farmers will be waiting nervously to see if there's a change to their herd figures.

The ICBF will today update €uro-Star and EBI genetic evaluations to bring them up to date with all data recently submitted and retrieved from factories and farmers.
Updated €uro-Star figures will be available to view at 5pm today on the Herdplus section on www.icbf.com.
The ICBF carries out three evaluation runs each year, one in January, one in May and one in September. Pedigree breeders in particular will be anxious to view updated figures to see if bulls have slipped out of four- or five-star status, taking away potential customers in the Beef Data and Genomics Programme (BDGP).

Participants in BDGP are required to either have a four- or five-star bull on their farm or use 80% four- or five-star genetics in 2018.
All of the 2017 genotype sample data will be included in this evaluation run. To have genotypic data, linear scoring data or weight data included for the next run in May, this data would need to be with the ICBF by the end of February.
