The trade is still very strong here in Clare. The weanling bull trade was a touch stronger this week compared with last week. Heifers were a slight bit easier though. The restrictions on number in marts is being implemented and there has been a slight drop in the number of buyers present at sales, with farmers trying to keep isolated. The bullock trade is holding its own. However, heifers have been a little easier in the past week also. The factory price drop on cows had an instant effect on prices in the mart ring, with average price dropping straight away.
