The row which led to the resignation of Boherbue Co-op’s chair Paty Murphy and three other board colleagues does not excite the wider shareholders. There was a relatively small turn out at Monday night’s AGM.

Chairing the meeting, Murphy outlined he and the three others had notified the co-op of their resignations which would take effect from the middle of June.

There were no questions from the floor about the matter, which centres on whether or not to accept an individual new supplier.

One farmer asked the auditor how much the co-op had spent supporting milk price in 2016. Price was supported by 2c/l through the months of April to July.

Paty Murphy and the three other board members will either step down in two weeks’ time or withdraw their resignations, by written letter. If they do carry out their resignations, then four new members will be co-opted on to the board.
