The board of Carbery in west Cork have held milk price at what they paid in March.

Carbery doesn’t pay milk suppliers, but if the co-op boards Lisavaird, Drinagh, Barryroe and Bandon make the same move, milk price will stay at 32.7c/l, excl VAT, at base solids excluding bonuses.

Yesterday the board of Dairygold lifted the base price for April bringing them to 33c/l, excl VAT.

Kerry Group were first out of traps to set April milk price holding the same as they paid in March at 32.3c/l, excl VAT, at 3.3% protein and 3.6% fat.

Glanbia followed, holding at the March price of 32.8c/l, excl VAT, at 3.3% protein and 3.6% fat. That’s a base of 32.35 c/litre plus the share of GI profit.
