There seems to be big movement among the breed societies of late.

A new Limousin CEO was appointed earlier in the month and now I hear the Aberdeen Angus association and Shorthorn society also have new recruits. Felicity McGrath heads up the Aberdeen Angus society, which got a new Irish herdbook due to Brexit, while Cheryl Hazenberg takes control of the Shorthorns.

While some societies are saying hello, others are saying goodbye, as I hear the well-known Larry Feeney retired from the Irish Hereford breed society this week.

If the new recruits in the other breeds last half as long as Larry’s 40-year stint, they’ll be doing well.
