The parishes of north Tipperary and beyond are anticipating a spectacular display of Christmas tractors this Sunday 18 December as over 30 local contractors are set to come together to put on a magical Christmas experience.

The Nenagh event has now become a festive favourite for many and is set to be bigger and better than ever.

Chief organiser and local beef farmer Albert Purcell told the Irish Farmers Journal that last year, Christmas Tractors Nenagh raised €26,000 and that he expects this year’s event to surpass that amount.

“This year all proceeds will be going towards Billy’s Recovery Story and the A-Team, an autistic unit in Nenagh, both of which are very worthy causes.

“We’ve been with Billy since 2018 and last year we raised €13,000 for him. He’s doing really well and he’s mad about tractors, especially blue tractors,” Purcell said.

To donate online you can click on this link and there will be plenty of collection points around the town to donate on the day also.

Proceedings

“We’ll kick off proceedings Sunday morning with our Christmas market, which will open from 10am located on Kenyon Street where lots of local produce and baking will be on dispay,” Purcell said.

Children can avail of polar express train rides and amusements from noon and live Christmas music will begin in the town from 2pm at the market cross.

The parade will start at 6pm sharp and will be lead off by over 60 children on toy tractors.
