Rather than physically visiting farms, the Irish Grassland Association has come up with a novel way of revisiting previous tours.

Farmers David Kerr from Laois, Henry Walsh from Galway and Conor Creedon from Kerry each hosted the summer tour between 2014 and 2016.

The virtual tour will revisit these farms on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week, with videos and discussion on Twitter and Facebook throughout the day.

The focus will be on what has happened since the farm walk and future plans to tackle current issues.

The virtual tour will wrap up on Thursday evening with a webinar with Tadhg Buckley and three farmers.

This week is also farm safety week. It’s imperative that farm safety is to the front of everyone’s mind when working at this busy time. Those at the greatest risk of a farm accident are younger and older people.
