ArraTipp has named the Breen family from Co Tipperary as the co-op’s 2025 milk supplier of the year 2025.
Winners Simon and Carol Breen milk 255 cows on an 89ha milking platform near Emly in the west of the county.
The processor’s milk quality award for 2025 travelled to Ballycrissane, Co Galway, to the farm of – Sharon Hennessy and Donal Canniffe.
The pair milk 60 spring-calving Friesian cows on a grass-based system and managed to achieve an average SCC of 39,000 and an average TBC of 18,000 in 2025.
ArraTipp’s SCC award went to supplier Sean Teehan from Coolderry, Co Offaly, who achieved an average SCC of 51,000 in 2025.
Teehan farms milks 70 Holstein Friesian cows with his father PJ, with selective dry cow therapy applied to 30% of the herd last year. The Teehan’s average SCC for 2025 was 51,000
Waterford’s Dermot McGrath scooped the TBC award, with an average TBC of 10,000 last year across a herd of 110 cows.
