Dale Farm announced a 0.5p/l cut to its base price for May after Thursday's board meeting. This brings the co-op to a base of 25p/l.

However, suppliers of Dale Farm who are co-op members also benefit from a 0.3p/l loyalty bonus on top of base price.

This ultimately puts Dale Farm on an “all-in” base price of 25.3p/l, and marginally ahead of Lakeland Dairies. Earlier on Thursday, Lakeland held its May base price on 25.25p/l for NI milk.

Further details on NI milk pricing will feature in next week’s Irish Farmers Journal.
