Kildare-based Dawn Farm Foods has signed a seven year contract to supply cooked meats to more than 4,000 Subway restaurants in Europe. Dawn Farms say the deal has an export value of €850m.

This deal is the continuation of a partnership that stretches back as far as the early 90s.

Dawn Farms has supplied Subway with cooked meats since it opened its first European store in 1993.

The last supply contract between the two was signed in 2010 and valued at €700m.

Dawn Farm Foods chief executive Larry Murrin said the new contract was recognition of his company’s competitiveness, supply chain consistency and food security, as well as its investment in product innovation.

Murrin added that the new supply agreement was strategic for the business and would translate into increased export sales on the back of Subway’s ambitious growth plans in Europe.
