Belfast all set for Farmers Bash

Outside of the Balmoral Show, the event – now in its third year – sees the biggest gathering of farmers of all ages to celebrate the end of the summer in a harvest festival of song and dance with country music very much to the fore.

This year’s event features Johnny Brady, Derek Ryan, Mike Denver and Cliona Hagen while an international angle will provided with guest spots by The Wurzels and Finnish group Steve’n’Seagulls.

Aoife Leonard from Killanena, Clare, got a rapturous reception at the Galway Country Sessions in the Clayton Hotel last November. Last week saw the release of her new single and debut video, Spread a Little Happiness, a song composed by Eugene Cunningham from Fermanagh. The video was filmed by Leo Fitzgerald down in Cork.
