It is a superb achievement by the young singer who has fended off stiff opposition from Kodaline, Eminem, One Direction and Michael Bublé, to land the top spot.
“I am absolutely delighted that Where I Wanna Be has reached number one in the charts. It is something that every musician and recording artist strives to achieve and I owe a huge thank you to everyone who has bought the album and helped to make this happen.
“Where I Wanna Be is my fourth studio album. I wasn’t sure how we would top the success of Wagon Wheel, which has remained in the charts for over a year now. Having a number one best-selling album means a lot to me and I hope it’s the first of many.
“I texted my mum when I heard the news. She replied back “you take it easy on those roads at night’. But then she called me five minutes later when it all sank in and she was so excited she was almost screaming.”
It has been a great year for Nathan who has been playing to capacity crowds at concerts, festivals and dances all over Ireland and the UK.
“The team around me are all great people – the band, the road crew, John Farry my manager, and Sharpe Music. Reaching number one is a huge achievement for them too.”
The new album features 14 songs including Ho Hey, Welcome To The Weekend and Boys of Summer, as well as the title track Where I Wanna Be.
