Erth Engineering has just introduced a secondary hopper option on its Agriseeder direct drill.

The manufacturer says the secondary hopper will allow the machine to disperse two products at once, either into a common airstream, which is into the slot via the trailing coulter, or broadcasted on to the surface.

For example, it can sow peas via the coulter and clover on the surface, grass seed via the coulter and slug pellets on the surface or micro-fertiliser via the coulter and seed on the surface.

Stainless steel

The company says construction is all stainless steel and it uses an in-house designed sponge roller metering unit to allow it to handle different sizes of seeds and more difficult products.

The 3m version features auto contouring through three one metre frame sections.

The Agriseeder comes in 3m and 4m versions. The 3m version features auto contouring through three 1m frame sections.

These sections are pressurised individually, meaning each section applies its own independent surface pressures. Various row spacings and hopper sizes can be specified.

Erth says it sources the Accord metering unit from Kverneland.

It uses serrated discs to cut a narrow slit into the surface.

The seed is then placed in the ground via the trailing coulters, which are followed by a smooth roller. The roller also serves as a depth control unit, while the unit is ground-driven.

Panbuster

Erth offers three-, four- and five-leg variations of its Panbuster subsoiler and will be displaying models at the event.

Leg spacings range from 600mm up to 900mm.

The unit can be specified with working widths from 2.4m up to 3m, while transport width varies from 2.35m up to 3m.

The firm says horsepower requirements start at 80hp. Erth offers several variations, with the Panbuster X being the most popular offering.

It is fitted with hydraulic auto-reset and the hydraulic pressures can be set from the cab.

The company claims to have developed a special grassland leg for the range that reduces draft requirement and maximises lift. It is equipped with a hydraulic roller, which acts as a depth control monitor with an indicator which allows depth to be changed on the move and load-sensing spring-loaded discs.
