The joint auctioneer on the property, Robert Nixon of Nixon & Co, Auctioneers Kells, Co Meath, was delighted that the 74-acre non-residential Farm at Barfordstown, Kells, Co Meath, sold at auction for €925,000.

With an opening bid of €650,000 and with four strong contenders in the room, the farm quickly realised €850,000 at which stage it was declared on the market.

The buyers were the Meade Family of the Meade Potato Company based at Lobinstown, Navan, Co Meath.

According to Nixon, this is an exceptional farm of land laid out in one large division with exclusive main road frontage. It attracted considerable interest prior to auction from investors and farmers.
