Gardaí told the Irish Farmers Journal they are investigating the sudden death of man in his 50s who was found dead in a yard at his home at Ballindine, Co Mayo at 4.15pm this Wednesday.

A spokesperson for the Health and Safety Authority said he was not yet aware of the incident.

If confirmed as a work-related death, this would be the first fatal farming accident this year, after the HSA recorded 15 cases in 2018.
