A farmer lost his life on Saturday 30 June in Clogher, Claremorris, Co Mayo.

The farmer, who was in his 50s, had been collecting bales and the accident is understood to have involved machinery.

A second farmer in his 70s was killed on Tuesday 3 July, following a farm accident in Three Mile House, Co Monaghan. “The man fell into a slurry pit shortly after 3pm. He was pulled out a short time later but was pronounced dead at the scene,” a press spokesperson for An Garda Síochána stated.

The HSA is investigating both accidents.
