GLAS payments are in far better shape this year compared with previous years of the scheme.

According to a Department spokesperson, 96% of all eligible GLAS participants are fully up to date with payments.

There are still a number of farmers who are waiting for payments.

The Irish Farmers Journal heard reports that internal IT issues affected payments to certain farmers, with partnerships mentioned as the most common source of delays.

The Department would not confirm that there were any issues with payments internally, but said a further payment run will issue this week.

Farmers who have still not received their advance payment should make contact with the Department or their adviser to clarify any issues.

Common issues that could delay payments include:

  • Missing commonage management plans (CMP) or commonage farm plans (CFP).
  • Missing nutrient management plans (NMP).
  • Missing rare breed forms.
  • GLAS training not undertaken.
  • Remember, in cases that are rejected from the scheme, all GLAS payments made to date will be clawed back.
