The Department has allegedly told approved GLAS trainers that it will be mid-November at the earliest before they will receive payment, which they must in turn transfer to participating farmers within 60 days.
“It could be after Christmas before any private advisers will be able to pay participants,” one adviser said, adding that IT systems were being blamed once again.
The Department has also clarified that 31 October is a target date for advisers to submit commonage management plans (CMPs) for 9,000 commonage farmers in GLAS. “CMPs submitted after this date, before the end of the year, will continue to be processed for payment, although they may not be included in the first 2017 advance payment pay run,” the Department said.
