Conducted by Harrison and Hetherington through the MartEye platform, the Magnificent Moilies online sale of 13 pedigree Irish Moileds took place over the weekend.

The sale attracted interest from all three constituencies, with an incredible demand for weanlings in particular.

Topping the sale at £2,300 (€2,633) was the stylish six-month-old heifer calf, Curraghnakeely Penny-Lee 0694, bred by Nigel Edwards from Tempo in Co Fermanagh.

Matching her at the same money was her comrade, the 2024 born in-calf heifer Curraghnakeely Lily 0652 from Nigel Edwards. The top two priced heifers were sired by Glenfield Max EX90 bred by the McConnell family.

Lily found a new home in Devon, with Penny Lee staying in Co Fermanagh.

Two heifers hit £2,100 (€2,404), firstly going to Mervyn and Rachel Garrett for their homebred 2024-born heifer Sommerville Suki 3032. Ballyreagh Crocus 6821, bred by William Edwards in Tempo, matched her at the same price. Both of these heifers were sired by Glassdrummond Magician 2546 EX 92 bred by Sam Smiley and found new homes in Co Antrim.

Burren Bassett, bred by Nigel Edwards and Michelle McCauley, was secured by Chitty Farms in Shropshire. Born in February 2025, he topped the weanling bull calf prices at £1,200 (€1,374).
