The first farmer convicted of Bovine Viral Diarrhoea (BVD) offences in NI was fined £750 plus a £15 offender levy at Enniskillen Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
Noel Henry Thornton (64) of Cam Road, Derrylin, Enniskillen, pleaded guilty to three charges of having BVD positive cattle which had been moved in contravention of the BVD Eradication Scheme Order (Northern Ireland) 2016.
The case arose from a cattle identification inspection and follow-up investigation by DAERA officials.
