Bank of Ireland
Bank of Ireland will have brought 13 extra people into its agri-business division by the end of 2014. These roles are regionally based. A spokesperson from the bank said two more people may be taken on in the same department in the new year.
Bank of Ireland also has a graduate recruitment programme which will take on 80 people in 2015 and ag science graduates are encouraged to apply.
In fact, Bank of Ireland says that, as well as looking for students from the traditional finance background, they are actively encouraging students from a broad spectrum of degree backgrounds to apply.
AIB
In the past year, AIB has doubled its team of agri-advisers to 12, recruiting agri-specialists, including a new agri-business development manager, to its agri-advisor service. These roles were located regionally, as well as in head office.
IFAC
By the end of the year, IFAC will have taken on 38 people, five of which were replacements.
These positions included a manager, trainee accountants, qualified accountants, bookkeepers, secretaries and persons in IT.
Some of these positions were part-time. IFAC expects to continue its recruitment programme for 2015 in line with the current year.
FBD
FBD has a network of sales offices nationwide, a customer care centre in the midlands and a head office in Dublin.
FBD’s philosophy is to promote from within where possible, and vacancies arise constantly through promotions, natural turnover, new projects and growth opportunities.
In 2014 to date, FBD has appointed 41 people on permanent contracts from outside FBD.
FBD has also recruited a large number of contract staff to cover project work and leave cover. This was a particularly busy year.
FBD says that recruitment in 2015 will be dictated by the employment market in Ireland generally and the organisation’s strategy.
