Running throughout the month of September – with a particular focus on events taking place from Tuesday 8 September until Sunday 13 September, the Cliff Townhouse’s fourth Dublin City Oyster Festival has something for all seafood lovers.
Visitors to the festival can enjoy the oyster Happy Hour (where all oysters will be €1.50 each), a divine oyster cocktail, or taste a selection of oyster specials from the restaurant’s once-off menu. Chef Sean Smith will also give visitors a masterclass in cooking intriguing oyster dishes– taking place on 10 September. Attendees are asked to book early as spaces will fill up fast.
The once-off menu selection will showcase the oyster, with mains such as Dover sole with a herb crust, oyster and cucumber sauce, a classic steak and oyster pudding with roast vegetables and red wine sauce, sea trout with samphire, an oyster beignet and soy and ginger dressing, and cod with Bramley apple, celeriac sauce and smoked thyme oil.
