Farmers across Scotland will have the opportunity to take part in a variety of events run by the Farm Advisory Service (FAS), which are set to take place across the country this coming week.

On Monday 10 September, the Dumfries and Galloway Dairy Women Network will host an event focusing on the role technology plays on farms.

A series of events examining how businesses can diversify into food and drink will also begin on Monday, with the first meeting taking place in Aberdeenshire, followed by a meeting in Dumfries on Tuesday 11 September and again on Wednesday 12 September in Oban.

In Shetland on Monday 10 September, farmers and growers will also have the opportunity to hear an update on pest and disease management for barley crops.

On Wednesday 12 September, Farm Profit Programme (FPP) adviser Robert Gilchrist will be on hand in Dumfries discussing how farmers can improve their suckler herd performance. At the event, Robert will also share some of the practices and lessons learned from the FPP focus farms.
