Met Éireann has issued a status yellow frost warning for Connacht, Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Carlow, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Louth, Offaly, Westmeath, Meath, Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick and Tipperary.

The weather forecaster has warned that it will be “very cold”, with minimum air temperatures ranging from 2°C to -4°C.

“Widespread severe frost with the risk of icy patches,” Met Éireann said.

The weather warning is in place from 8pm Sunday 17 November until 9am the following morning.
