The Global Dairy Trade (GDT) index continues to fall, back 1.4% at the latest auction held on Tuesday.
The index linked to the fortnightly trading event has not risen since the beginning of August this year.
Whole milk powder (MWP), making up on average over half the tonnage of product traded, and skim milk powder (SMP), accounting for one quarter, were both down.
The price paid for WMP dropped 2.4% to €3,097/t, while SMP decreased by 1.6% to €2,196/t.
Anhydrous milk fat was the only dairy product traded that saw a price increase. It was up 1.5% to €6,039/t.
Butter and cheese
The cost of butter at the auction was back 0.8% to €5,716/t, while the price of both cheeses offered also fell. Mozzarella fell by 5.3% to €2,771 and cheddar dropped by 1.9% to €4,082.
No lactose was offered at the event, while a price for butter milk powder was not available.
